Growing up I was a chubby kid and gained more weight as I got older. I did all the most popular diets – Weight Watchers, Atkins, Cabbage Soup, Jenny Craig, e. Diets, South Beach diet . I’d lose a little, but feel like I was starving and end up over- eating. This started a pattern of restricting and binge eating that resulted in crappy self esteem and constantly fluctuating weight. It took over every aspect of my life. Eventually I started this blog to talk about running and eating healthy. That was the first step in the right direction. You need to eat real, healthy food to run a marathon. I had to change how I thought about food. I had to change how I cooked. I had to change how I treated my body. It was a long process, but slowly and surely I got to a healthy place. Now instead of dieting I use Intuitive Eating to lose weight, keep it off and not drive myself crazy in the process. It’s a big challenge to try and eat intuitively when you’re training for a half marathon or marathon! Running makes you hungry! And it’s hard to know how much to eat to fuel well and NOT overeat when you’re racking up the miles. This is why Run. Eat. Repeat is a great way to document my diet and training journey to share with other runners trying to eat healthy and run faster. I never expected this blog to turn into a way for me to connect with so many people. I love running and eating and I LOVE being able to help others that want tips on living a healthy lifestyle. I want to share my story and I also want to help you hit your goals. I am a certified Health Coach and Running Coach. I create training plans and recipes. I started this blog to document my weight loss journey and write about running my first marathon. I never expected it to grow into the massive beast that it has.
